Personal Biography

Afshin immigrated to Quebec, Canada in 2012 and became a member of Ontario bar in 2018 after graduating from Osgoode Hall (LLM CCL). Afshin is an honors graduate of faculty of law at Shiraz University. Immediately after receiving his master’s degree in international law with an A+ average, he was recruited by National Iranian Petroleum Company (NIOC) at the age of 23 as an international contract specialist. He then became a member of the Iranian bar at age 24, the youngest age one can become a member of the bar. He also began teaching public and private international law at different universities in Tehran. In his private practice as a lawyer he litigated many cases before different levels of court in Iran, representing small and big clients in commercial and corporate matters. He also acted as corporate council for the Golden Group, Ghavamin Bank and others. His speciality during his Iran practice was corporate, commercial litigation and financial fraud.

After moving to UAE and obtaining the designation of “Mostashar” he represented big real estate names in Emirati courts. In Dubai, Afshin was commissioned by Iranian Consulate to found and establish the law program at UAE branch of Islamic Azad University in Dubai. His legal teachings in Dubai branded him with the nickname “Ostaz” in Emirati courts. His private UAE practice focused on real estate development litigation, corporate and commercial litigation, international trade and international contracts. Afshin represented many big names in UAE including but not limited to DAMAC properties, Nakheel Properties, NIOC, Dorsa and many others.

Afshin immigrated to Quebec, Canada in 2012 and became a member of Ontario bar in 2018 after graduating from Osgoode Hall (LLM CCL). Prior to his bar admission, Afshin continued acting for his overseas clients on an advisory role and pursued his passion for business immigration by becoming a Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant. As an RCIC, Afshin assisted hundreds of business owners immigrate to and establish in Canada. His success rate of 89% continues in his legal practice at YLG.
